We are seeking a Technical Writer to direct the creation of a comprehensive content repository that will serve multiple functions, including technical releases, marketing, training, sales, and user documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, content strategy, and documentation management for SaaS products. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of the customer resources for our innovative SaaS offerings while working closely with stakeholders to ensure our solutions effectively meet existing and future market needs.

This is a remote position open to candidates in the US. The Technical Writer reports to the Chief Product & Technology Officer.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Content Strategy: Develop and manage a unified content strategy for technical documentation, user manuals, training materials, marketing collateral, and sales enablement resources.
  • Create a Content Repository: Build and maintain a scalable, accessible content repository to house technical and non-technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product management, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to gather information, ensure content accuracy, and align documentation with product updates and company goals.
  • Documentation for SaaS Products: Author and maintain high-quality documentation for software releases, including API documentation, technical specs, user guides, and release notes.
  • Support Marketing & Sales Teams: Create product-focused materials for marketing campaigns, whitepapers, and presentations that highlight the technical capabilities and benefits of our SaaS solutions for the public sector.
  • Training & Onboarding Materials: Develop and update training documentation and resources to support customer and internal onboarding.
  • Maintain Consistency & Quality: Ensure consistency, accuracy, and clarity across all documentation, adhering to established style guides and best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Establish documentation workflows and continuously seek ways to improve the quality and efficiency of content production.
  • Content Governance: Develop policies and procedures for content lifecycle management, ensuring content is up-to-date, version-controlled, and accessible.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of technical writing or documentation experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
  • Proficiency in using documentation and content management tools such as Confluence, MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar platforms.
  • Proven experience in developing content strategies and building content repositories for diverse audiences, including technical teams, end-users, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering, product, marketing, and sales teams to develop accurate and relevant documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise content.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Compensation:
  • Pay Range: $70k-$80k annual salary (Boston, MA)
  • Salary will be adjusted based on geographic location
